Accessories Retailer Judith Leiber Opens Flagship at the Carlton
House – With the assistance of retail leasing team Faith Hope Consolo
and Joseph A. Aquino of Garrick-Aug Worldwide, Ltd., luxury accessories
retailer-to-the-stars Judith Leiber opened her flagship boutique
this year. Located at 680 Madison Avenue, on the ground floor of
the incredibly elegant, Old World-style Carlton House, the 5,000-square-foot
store opened this fall. The historic site, coupled
with the
retailer’s A-list celebrity and First Lady-approved merchandise, made this one
of
2004’s most noteworthy deals.
Searle Opens 635 Madison Avenue Flagship – Bringing a leading
brand to one of the most luxurious stretches of Madison Avenue, brokerage team
Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph A. Aquino of Garrick-Aug Worldwide, Ltd. arranged
for Searle’s leasing of its flag-ship store at 635 Madison Avenue, this year.
The 12,000-square-foot store, situated between 59th and 60th Streets, put Searle
in the company of fashion luminaries such as Calvin Klein, Barneys, Celine, DKNY,
Tod’s and Bally – a perfect showcase for its famed coats, including its trademark
shearlings, and its contemporary sportswear, lingerie, acces-sories and shoes.

Co-Op Goes West – This year saw the introduction of Barneys Co-Op to a brand new
Upper West Side audience. The West Side has long been known for the finest foods
and restaurants, and now it also has the finest shopping, thanks to the new 10,000-square-foot
store that opened in Fall2004 at 2139-2157 Broadway, between 75th and 76th Streets.

the landlord in the neighborhood transforming lease.
Bloomies Comes to SoHo – The "big brown bags" are now being
parading all over SoHo as a result of one of the year’s most significant store
openings: Bloomingdale’s at 504 Broadway, between Spring and Broome Streets. The
mega-department store, which is also Bloomingdale’s sec-ond in Manhattan, features
124,000 square feet of retail space bound to appeal to the youthful, trendy masses
that shop in SoHo. The $40 mil-lion project created SoHo’s sole depart-ment store
in one of Manhattan’s most fashionable neighborhoods.
Abercrombie
& Fitch Fetches Flagship on Fifth - Casual clothes and accessories retailer Abercrombie
& Fitch secured a highly prestigious location for its flagship store in 2004.
The retailer committed to a 17,000-square-foot lease for space on the corner of
5th Avenue and 56th Street, one of the most prominent retail corners in New York
City. The store, which opened this fall, enhanced the retailer’s visibility to
both domestic and international customers alike.
