The premier shopping corridor on the East Side is “Bloomie’s Country.” Anchored by the palatial Bloomingdale’s flagship, this 7-day-aweek neighborhood extends from 59th Street to Yorkville, and its foot traffic is only rivaled by Columbus Circle on the West Side. The area’s mix of residential and office buildings, as well as constant influx of tourists ensure a wide range of shoppers frequent the area on a daily basis.

Ever since the 1970’s, the neighborhood has been a destination for haute couture, even visited by Queen Elizabeth. Bloomie’s Country boasts soaring skyscrapers, including the international Bloomberg building, whose opening brought a new dimension to the neighborhood. With its modern architecture and glass curtain wall, this building fuels the fast-paced lifestyle of workforce and residents.

The heart of Bloomie’s Country comprises Third and Lexington Avenues, and nearly every corneris reigned by a different big box store, such as H & M, The Container Store, Urban Outfitters, and Home Depot. Additional members of the local retail roster include Swarovski, Geox, Sephora, Levi’s and Zara. Soon to come, the former site of Express is transforming into a multi-level Victoria’s Secret, while True Religion is set to open on Third Avenue.
